There is never any real internal danger in EUIV. I went back to EUIII and realised that EUIV is an arcade version of a grand strategy. Similar to EU4 in that aspect, which is not a point of praise by the way. In this game you could send your whole army the other side of the world with no repercussions. What problem I do have though, is the ease in holding it, whereas in reality the Roman Empire never became bigger for the last few hundred years, as its armies spent the time trying to keep control of what they had. I am not a natural warmonger, but have no problem painting the map. Can you conquer the ancient world as Boii?! I bet you can! With these manas of various colors, you can just ignore internal threats and push onward in the quest to be the biggest blob. Their earlier games like EUIII were hard and you couldn't use magical currencies to click away internal problems that could collapse your empire. It's supposed to be easy for you to write your empire's name across the map and screenshot it so you leave the game with positive feelings about Paradox games so that you'll buy the next one. Not to mention that if you are trying to play as a minor power there is little you can do to save yourself from a quick game over because playing an underdog is almost impossible. It is far too easy to sweep across the world once you are sufficiently strong. I understand that Alexander the Great conquered all of Persia in a single war, but that should be the exception not the rule. You cannot even profit from the new land for a good few years, that is not to mention cultural and religious differences, which Imperator does better actually. That is not to mention the core conversion costs which until you spend the admin mana will cause corruption to go crazy. You do not totally annex a nation twice your size in a single war. What I need is an advice on what should I go for from 7th > 8th level (ASIs, Feats) and what magical item (my first magic in the whole campaign) should I go for (up to Rare), Thanks!Įdit 2: This is my first time playing a paladin. In comparison to other paradox games, Imperator allows massive conquest of land without serious repercussions.ĬK2: simply cannot conquer that much land in a single war, usually you go to war for a measly 1 province.ĮU4: At most in the best total conquest possible you take maybe 5 provinces, depending on development. Last week she told us to prepare for our character's level up (from 7th to 8th) so that we don't need to spend a lot of time preparing and get more time playing.Ĭharacter: I'm playing a 7th level Volo's Fallen Aasimar Oath of Conquest Paladin. ![]() I'm in need of an advice on how to optimise my Oath of Conquest Paladin ASAP to 8th level as I totally forgot we are having a session TONIGHT! and DM told us last week to prepare for level up and 1 magic item (up to Rare).īackstory: We are playing in a very very brutal campaign (2 characters already dead) with a seasoned DM.
